Privacy Policy

• No accounts, sign-ups, email addresses, or phone numbers.
• No location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access.
• No analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, Firebase, Facebook, etc.).
• No advertising trackers and no in-app ads.

Your selected category, language preference, and dark-mode setting are saved in your device’s local storage. This data never leaves your device. Uninstalling the app deletes it.

Our backend logs the standard information any web server records when you load articles: IP address, timestamp, request URL, and response status. These logs are used only for debugging and abuse prevention, and are retained for at most 7 days. They are never sold or shared.

• RSS sources (BBC, CNN, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, France 24, etc.): we fetch their public feeds. They do not see you — only our server.
• OpenAI: used server-side to translate article text into Chinese. We send only article content (title, description, body). No user-identifying data is sent.
• Railway: hosts the backend and Postgres database that stores the translated articles.

Audio playback uses your device’s built-in speech engine (Apple AVSpeechSynthesizer on iOS, Android TextToSpeech on Android, Web Speech API on web). Article text is read locally on your device and is not sent anywhere by us.

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.

Because we don’t store personal data tied to you, there is nothing for us to export or delete on your behalf. Local device data can be removed by uninstalling the app.

If this policy changes materially, the date above will be updated and notable changes will be summarized at the top.
